Claiming! « Thread Started on Mar 20, 2009, 3:28pm »
Okay, so I want to make a mare. And I want her to claim some land. BUT meh can't figure somethin out.
When a mare claims a land does she become Queen? Like the WHOLE land like, Terran and such like that, or the boards with the lands, like a Terran sub-board?
And, is there a place [like Aquan and Terran] that doesn't have a King/Queen? Also, is Parchia the queen? I was confuzzled bout that......

Okay, I ish halp.
Now, your mare can claim some land, yes, but only if she intends to roam around with other mares as what's called a matriarch band. This is a group of mares and fillies who are lead by a head, or lead, mare, and stallions are not a part of their community unless they are sons of the mares, but they will leave when they are old enough to. Like a whole herd of free girls, basically =D
To mate, they can meet up with a bachelor band if there's one, or a member can find herself a stallion who's willing to share *wink*
These are strictly female only bands (excepting sons). Which mean you cannot have a female lead who "claims" stallions. That's silly. There is no claiming of other mares either, the outsider mares come and ask for a place in the herd and the lead and her herd members consider it. It's like a sisterhood, or a sorority! Yeah, that sort of thing.
Now, Dill, if you want to have mare claim some land, go right ahead, but keep in mind that mean stallions might challenge for it, and if you don't have more mares to back your charrie up, she might get bullied out of her claim. But there's not many other characters around so I wouldn't be worried about that just yet.
To answer your other questions - when a mare claims herself a portion of territory, no, she does not become queen, she becomes a leader of her own little female only herd. And you have to have your mare claim part of one of the common lands of an alignment, being either the 2nd or 3rd sub-board as these are the lands for commoners, the first sub-boards are for the King and his family. But remember that the Terrans are different again, their 1st land is for the Arcana Guard, the 2nd one is where the Druid lives, and all the commoners live as one big community in the 3rd land. Terrans don't claim land at all, not even stallions, as they don't believe in ownership of the Earth.
Yep, Terrans don't have a King, they have their Druid, the canon character Redargo, and in the middle of their whole domain lives the Arcana Guard. But, si I said, land claiming doesn't happen there.
And, finally, Parchia is only the Queen in the sense that she is Hexus's mate. Females have it a bit rough in the Incendian Kingdom, and Hexus sees her as more of a lover and possession than a full on Queen. She does command her fair share of respect from common incendians though, so you have about of power with her =)
I hope that helps you, and anyone else, who is confused about this! Sarrie

Yeah, what about it do you mean?
To try and answer your question, when a stallion claims a land he becomes leader of his own herd, be it a bachelor band or a normal stallion and claimed mares) type. He simply claims his portion and it would be best for me, so I can mark the type down correctly, that you let me know in the claiming post what kind of herd he plans to build.

You just start a thread on the land you'd like to claim some of with your stally, write a post with him announcing his claim and intentions with it, and I'll come across it in my own time, I assure you.
And if you can't work the type of herd he'll have into your post, yeah, PM me by all means
